Samsung is one of the world's largest manufacturer and wants to stay on the top. That is why, when the time came to update their last flagship, Samsung Galaxy S4, they took the evolutionary approach instead of the cautious one and worked on the formula that made Galaxy S4 a wild success.
Samsung Galaxy S5 has been updated from S4 in the chips department as well. It is now powered by a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-Core Processor, 2GB LPDDR3 1866 RAM and supports upto 150 MBPS LTE speed. The screen has been slightly upgraded to a 5.1" 1080p Super AMOLED screen from 5.0" 1080p Super AMOLED screen of S4.
The latest flagship of Samsung has a 16 MP camera which can record upto a whopping 3840 x 2160 resolution video which is UHD quality. In terms of design change, Samsung has used the glossy plastic again but with a dotted texture which gives kind of a leathery look to the device.
Apart from that, the latest addition to the long list of features that comes with Galaxy flagships is the replacement of home key with a menu key having embedded fingerprint scanning abilities (iPhone 5S reminiscent, anybody?).
Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with the latest TouchWiz UX based on Android 4.4.2 OS. The smartphone comes in 4 colors - black, white, blue and copper - but the buyers in US will only get black and white options.
Although Samsung isn't ready to talk prices as of now but atleast they have confirmed that April 11 is the day buyers across get to buy the smartphone. Its definitely going to be a game changer in the smartphone universe but whether the effects are going to be cataclysmic for other manufacturers or not is still a wait and watch game considering HTC is supposed to unveil its flagship in this quarter as well.
