Next Android iteration to be Android 4.4 KitKat

Google announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean not a while ago but as it turned out to be a great disappointment everyone was looking up to Google to announce the next iteration of Android OS. It was rumored and teased to be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie for a long time now but today Google's Android and Chrome head, Sundar Pichai, posted on his Google+ page that that won't be the case and instead Google will be releasing Android 4.4 KitKat as the next Android iteration.

Sundar Pichai says in his post, of course on behalf of Google, that it's our goal with Android KitKat, which is Nestle's popular candy bar, to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody". While it is a very bold statement to make, the tech world believes that this may mean that Google have plans for Android to be used on smart watches, gaming consoles and other electronic gadgets.

Everyone is eager to see what Google comes up with in Android 4.4 KitKat as Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was nothing to write about. Let's wait for Google to pleasantly surprise us, hopefully.
