Samsung released world's first octa-core mobile SoC, Exynos 5, powered by ARM's big.LITTLE technology at this year's CES and generate quite an excitement among the crowd. It was rumored, correctly, to be powering the upcoming Samsung Galaxy SIV but the details of the GPU were unknown, not anymore.
Today Imagination Technologies, manufacturers of PowerVR series of GPUs, have confirmed that Exynos 5410, the SoC rumored to be powering Samsung Galaxy SIV, is using their PowerVR SXG 544 graphics chipset. According to Imagination Technologies, SXG 544 comes in a triple core as well as a quad core version but AnandTech has concluded that Samsung's latest flagship will be using triple core version.
The Unpacked event, which is going to be the launch stage of Samsung Galaxy SIV, will be held on March 14 in New York. We are going to find out surely then. Till then, lets just savour the rumor mill about Samsung Galaxy SIV because it is on the verge of its end.
