Download YouTube videos without any software

YouTube is world's largest video hosting website. It offers free uploading services, supports the complete horde of devices and even pays through Google's AdSense service making it even more lucrative for people to host their videos on.

Watching the videos is amazing but when you have to buffer again and again to watch a video or when you have to search for a video to show to friends, it sometimes becomes annoying. Although YouTube itself doesn't allow the videos to be downloaded(to protect the uploader's interests, i guess), it doesn't mean it can't be done. There are many softwares, like Youtube downloader, easily and freely available on the internet for the purpose but sometimes they do not return the results and hence become all the more annoying. But there is a very simple way using which you can download YouTube videos without the need of any software. Lets have a look at how to do it.

Step 1: Go to YouTube and click on the video you want to download. You don't need to buffer the video to download it.

Step 2: Now, in the URL bar at the top you can see the link to the YouTube video you have opened.

Now, all you have to do is replace youtube in the link with savemedia and it should now look like this. Just hit Enter now.

Note: Just adding save before youtube in the link will also work too as it automatically redirects to correct savemedia.com link.

Step 3: Now when the page loads, it will ask if it should run java or not. Click on 'Run This Time'. If you do not have Java, click here to get it.

After you have clicked on 'Run this time', the page will reload with download links for the video in all the resolutions and formats possible. You can also download just the audio of the video in a desired format right from this screen.

Now right click on the specific link (according to resolution and format) you want to download and click on 'Save link as..." option.

Then you have to give the file a name and destination and it will be downloaded link a normal file. If you use any download managing software, you can just right click on the link, copy it and use it to download through that software. It'll download normally from there too.

Now, when you click 'Save', your browser will download and store the file at the destination you have given it with the name you want.

There you go. That's how you can download a YouTube video very easily in a very hassle free manner without the use of any cumbersome software. Have a great time watching and downloading! :)
