BB 10 launches alongside with Z10 and Q10

The rumors related to BlackBerry's(RIM is now officially BlackBerry) latest and greatest BB 10 OS and the related devices have been flying around for some time now. First, a marketing image of BlackBerry Z10 emerged on the internet, then, the retail images of BlackBerry's new flagship made some rounds, then Z10 was put through a naked portfolio and to top it all off, BB 10 OS based training material went through circles on internet. As rumored, BlackBerry decided to give a rest to the rumor mill by officially announcing the new BB10 OS and first two devices based on it, Z10 and Q10.

This launch was something everyone in the tech world has been waiting for, for a long time because this is going to define BlackBerry's future and how it lives up to its dream of clawing back from the likes of Apple and Samsung. According to Thorsten Hein, BlackBerry CEO, BlackBerry 10 OS would charm those people "who are hyper-connected socially, who want to get things done and who want balance in their personal and professional life. It's for people who want to flow from app to app without having to use home button all the time." Well, it seems like at least BlackBerry is sure of the company they want to target, Apple. But the event was not only about the new OS or the brand name change from RIM to BlackBerry, it was also about BlackBerry's first BB 10 based couple. Lets have a look at them as well.

BlackBerry Z10

The BlackBerry Z10 is going to be RIM's new flagship and one of the first devices to be running on BlackBerry 10 OS. It sports 4.2 inch HD screen with 356ppi, a dual core TI OMAP 4470 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 8 MP backside shooter, NFC, LTE and a petite 1800 mAh battery. As far as the specs go, it is sure to get some attention and will compete side by side with Nokia and Apple's flagships.

By the way, if any of you have noticed, it looks very similar to iPhone 5. There aren't too many ways to design a full-touch smartphone, or course, but still the similarities are unmistakable.

BlackBerry Q10

BlackBerry Q10 is BlackBerry's first BB 10 based offering which sports a physical keyboard, a BlackBerry forte. It has the same configuration as its full-touch sibling, Z10 - a 4470 TI OMAP 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 2GB RAM and a 16 GB internal memory - except for a 3.1 inch 720X720 (330 ppi) Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. Even though they have emphasized on several occasions that BB 10 OS has been optimized for touch, its to glad to see that with this device BlackBerry has made sure that they are still going to continue, a great and its most successful,  physical keyboard tradition.

So, a grand wait is over and now an amazing leg of the smartphone users is coming our way and it looks like every company has its soldiers in the best shapes. But as in every war, there is always only one winner. Its going to pretty exciting to see which company will be the one.
